This really shouldn’t come as a surprise, since Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston.
On Wednesday, it was pretty much confirmed that Watson is not the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans when the team released their newest depth chart and the troubled QB was at the bottom as the 4th-string.
The Texans are days away from their first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers and Watson is reportedly not making the trip for that game.
Tyrod Taylor will be under center when the team takes the field.
Watson has been at odds with the team since demanding a trade earlier in the year, but things got held up after 22 women accused him of sexual assault or or misconduct during massage sessions that started in 2020.
First-year coach David Culley had little to say when reporters asked him during a press conference on Tuesday if the Texans planned to play Watson at all this preseason.

“No comment,” he said.
When responding to the Packers game, Culley said:
“He’s unlikely to play in the game for sure, so we’ll make a decision later in the week as to what’s going to happen with that,” adding, “It’s based off the limited reps he’s had in practice and that sort of thing.”
Culley described the situation as “day to day.”
“You know, he’d been out for a while, and he was back today, and we’re taking it day to day, as it’s been from the start of training camp.”
