Deshaun Watson has received good news in regard to his deposition.
A judge in the Harris County District Court quashed Monday’s deposition of Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson. He was previously scheduled to give an oral deposition in the 25th sexual misconduct lawsuit filed against him by a licensed massage therapist, but the judge assigned to the case decided to quash the motion until April 16th. The judge said Jane Doe’s lawyers failed to properly accommodate Watson’s request to reschedule. Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, also wouldn’t have been available for the deposition.
“On this day, the Court considered Defendant Deshaun Watson’s motion to quash,” the motion, filed in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, read. “The motion is hereby in all things GRANTED. The deposition of Defendant, Deshaun Watson, noticed for April 10, 2023, is hereby quashed.”
The 25th lawsuit against Watson was filed on Oct. 13th, 2022. The allegations in the lawsuit stem from an appointment on Dec. 18, 2020, which the woman claims Watson set up via Instagram. He was accused of trying unsuccessfully to have sex with the woman, although she claims he was able to “pressure her into oral sex.” According to the woman, Watson paid her $300 for her services.

Watson reportedly met over 66 women for massage therapy during his time with the Houston Texans, with almost half of them alleging some sort of sexual misconduct during the appointments. Two grand juries declined to indict Watson on the charges.
The Browns traded for Watson on March 18th, 2022, and then gave a him a fully guaranteed deal.
Watson missed the first 11 games of the 2022 NFL season due to suspension for gross sexual misconduct alleged by over 20 massage therapists.
The team would finish 7-10 last year which was good enough for last place in the AFC North.
