The Pittsburgh Steelers bounced back in Week 2 to defeat their AFC North rival Cleveland Browns 26-22 on Monday Night Football.
Deshaun Watson threw for 235 yards and also a touchdown and interception. However, his behavior on the field overshadowed anything he did on that night. Watson scrambled out of bounds in the third quarter for no gain and was flagged 15-yards for an unnecessary roughness facemask penalty. Watson then appeared to make contact with an official while arguing the flag.
He was not assessed a flag for the contact and after the 26–22 loss he denied making contact with the official, saying, “There was no contact with the ref” and they were just “having a conversation.”
He was blasted on social media for his actions, but it appears he was taking up for himself as well.
Fans on social media seemed to notice an account speaking only on Watson posts and it wasn’t hard to put two and two together that it was the Browns quarterback.

Two games into his first full season with the Browns, major questions remain about whether Watson can be the same player who led the NFL in passing when he was at the top of his game with the Houston Texans. Right now, Watson isn’t even an average QB, ranking near the bottom in most major statistical categories.
Now with Browns star running back Nick Chubb suffering a season-ending left knee injury in the 26-22 loss at Pittsburgh on Monday night, Watson needs to step up even more and show why the team traded for him and gave him a fully guaranteed deal.
Watson finished Monday night 22 of 40 for 235 yards with a touchdown, a pick-6, six sacks, and two lost fumbles. The 28-year-old Watson is getting heat from reporters and fans about his plodding prime-time performance and the last thing he should be worried about is trying to defend his honor on social media.
