Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s season is over as he is set to undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder.
The team published a statement this Wednesday morning in which they disclosed that the player had two MRIs on Monday after sustaining two injuries during the first half of Sunday’s win over the Baltimore Ravens.
One scan revealed a high-ankle sprain on his left foot and another determined that he had a displaced fracture in his right shoulder.
Watson was able to finish the game, helping Cleveland win 33-31 but complained of shoulder discomfort thereafter.
It was advised that the shoulder injury would require immediate surgery in order to avoid additional structural damage. The QB will be placed on the injury reserve and is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2024 season.
