NFL fans are roasting the Cleveland Browns following one of their captaincy decisions heading into 2023.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson, who is going into his first full season with the team, has been named one of five Browns captains ahead of what he hopes will be a productive campaign following his lengthy suspension from last term.
“Deshaun, it’s very, very natural for him to lead,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “And I think he’s comfortable leading from out in front. I think he’s comfortable from leading and letting his teammates get credit. That’s just something he’s always done his whole life. And just the way he’s integrated himself into this football team is impressive to watch.”
Fans, however, think Watson is a terrible choice for captain.

Watson served an 11-game suspension last season as he was adjudged to have violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy, with over 20 women accusing him of sexual assault and sexual misconduct stemming from massage sessions.
He has settled 23 of the lawsuits against him while two remain active.
League commissioner Roger Goodell branded Watson’s actions “predatory” and “egregious.”
