DeSean Jackson clearly wants to make his exit from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he made that clear after sources told ESPN’s Josina Anderson he was ready to go.
DeSean Jackson started the season on fire with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, amassing over 100+ yards in the first two games and scoring three total touchdowns. Since then, he’s only scored one more TD the rest of the season and none of them came in the final five games of the year.
New Bucs coach Bruce Arians said he wants Jackson on the team in 2019, but Jackson’s comments on the Simms & Lefkoe show made it clear he would love to take his talents to the Los Angeles.
“Worst-case scenario, if anything, I would like to end up in LA being a Ram,” Jackson told the Simms & Lefkoe show. “Sean McVay, you know we’ve got some connections from when I was in D.C. But we’ll see how it plays out. I’ve got another year in Tampa. We’ll see how it plays out.”
He has one year remaining on his contract, but the Bucs can simply cut him and save $10M in cap space with no dead money.
