The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching and teams already appear to be wheeling and dealing.
It seems more and more likely that Derrick Henry’s time in Tennessee will soon come to an end. The Titans were bad last year and this season is already off to a rough start. Now, the franchise is staring at a reset button with a week until the NFL’s Oct. 31 trade deadline.
Because of their bad season, Shervon Fakhimi of ClutchPoints has named a couple of prime destinations for Henry to land at in a trade. He mentioned the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills as potential suitors.
On the Ravens:
“Baltimore’s running backs have performed well this season, but they could use an upgrade to open up the offense even further. Derrick Henry on an expiring contract helps a contending team more so than a mediocre one. Henry could make the Ravens’ offense even more dynamic and difficult to stop.”
On the Bills:
“Derrick Henry and James Cook and Cook would present a similar dynamic that exists between Henry and Spears, but for a team that is competing for a Super Bowl and needs a physical runner like Henry to take some pressure off of Josh Allen. Henry would be a great fit for the Bills. They should pay up to bring him in and help them make a run for the Super Bowl.”

Henry doesn’t sound as though he’d wish to be traded. When asked Tuesday about whether he’d want to go play for a Super Bowl contender, he sharpened his glare: “Have I said anything like that?”
“I’m going to believe in myself if nobody does,” Henry went on to say. “I’m confident in myself. … That’s how I’ve always been.”
At the end of the day, it won’t be up to him as the franchise will always look out for their best interest.
The Titans are in last place in the AFC South and three games behind the Jacksonville Jaguars in the win column. If they lose on Sunday to the Atlanta Falcons, the talks surrounding a trade will only get louder.
