After the Titans traded safety Kevin Byard to the Eagles last week, there was speculation about what other deals the team might make ahead of the deadline.
Running back Derrick Henry is in the final year of his contract with the Titans and there are a few teams that would become stronger contenders with him in their backfield.
Speculation around a possible Henry trade likely will continue until the trade deadline passes, which leads us to what might be brewing behind the scenes.
Among the many teams being mentioned for Henry’s services are the Dallas Cowboys who have been named a ‘dark horse’ trade candidate.
Compensation would be a sticking point, but the Titans’ ownership is dead set on not trading him.
That said, the Titans noted that they have no plans to trade the star tailback before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

Henry even spoke on the matter after Sunday’s win as he stated he has no intention to leave the organization for which he’s played his entire NFL career.
“I’ve talked to [Titans GM Ran Carthon]. We’ve had talks, and I feel like everything’s going in a positive direction,” Henry said, via Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official website. “I understand my position. The life span of it is not too long. I’m getting older. I ain’t getting no younger. But, at the end of the day, I know it’s a business and I understand that. …
“I’m a Titan, and I’m happy to be a Titan. … I am going to do everything I can to help this organization continue to win.”
Henry ran for 101 yards in Sunday’s 28-23 win over the Falcons. Rookie quarterback Will Levis threw four touchdowns in Sunday’s win and that makes the future look a bit brighter and the team might want to see what this tandem could do.
