In the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans drafted former Michigan Wolverines running back Hassan Haskins. He is a rookie who will be playing alongside one of the NFL’s best running backs in Derrick Henry.
During a recent press conference, Henry did his best to avoid a similar controversy to what his quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. When asked for his thoughts on the team drafting his backup running back, Henry seemed excited about working with Hassan.
“I was excited when we got him, Hassan is a beast,” Henry said. “I actually got to catch his game against Ohio State where he went off. Seeing him in person, he’s a big dude, he’s a solid dude and just seeing him out there you can tell everything is coming natural to him, I just told him don’t try to get too overwhelmed and take it day by day.”
Last season with the Wolverines, Haskins registered 270 carries for 1,327 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns over 14 games, helping Michigan reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in school history.
His most memorable performance of the season came against Ohio State, as he racked up 169 yards on 28 carries and tied a school record with five touchdowns. His play on the field earned him consensus first-team All-Big Ten honors, along with AFCA second-team All-American honors and AP third-team All-American honors.
