Derek Carr is set to be a free agent this offseason and he wants his freedom from the Raiders now.
Carr has informed the Las Vegas Raiders that he won’t accept a trade that sends him anywhere in the league, and that includes the Saints, who he has visited with a few times.
The Raiders are now expected to release Carr, according to Ian Rapoport.
The Raiders already made it known that Carr would not be in their plans for next season and beyond. He has also made it known that he does not want to return either.
He was set to be a $34.8 million cap hit for next season but cutting him would save the Raiders $29.25 million they could use to make other moves.
A long term with the squad is going to end ugly.
