Derek Carr has had a effective season quarterbacking the Las Vegas Raiders, all things considering.
He has tossed 19 touchdown passes against three interceptions, with a completion percentage of nearly 70% and a QB rating of 104.9, which would most definitely be the best mark of his seven-year career.
However, Carr finds himself leading the NFL in one terrible category: fumbles lost. After losing three more fumbles in the Raiders’ 43-6 road loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, Carr has now lost eight fumbles in the 2020 season.
ProFootballTalk says his 31 lost fumbles since the start of 2014 are more than any other player in the league.
Carr said it’s “not a stat I’m proud of.”
“When something like that happens, I just try my best to look at the film and see what could I have done better in that play,” Carr said, via Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “And sometimes I have to take a deep breath and realize sometimes there is nothing you could do about it.”
Going into Week 13, the Raiders are sitting at 6-5, just one game behind the Miami Dolphins (7-4) and Indianapolis Colts (7-4) for the last two spots in the AFC Wild Card race.
