Saints quarterback Derek Carr was ruled out of Sunday’s 18-17 loss against the Packers due to a shoulder injury sustained after a sack from Packers pass-rusher Rashan Gary.
Carr walked off of the field under his own power, but his day was done as Jameis Winston was seen warming up on the sideline as medical personnel attended to Carr.
After the game, the veteran signal-caller was taken to the hospital, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“#Saints QB Derek Carr is being taken to a local hospital to run additional tests after having X-rays at the stadium, sources say. They will check for, among other things, internal injuries,” Rapoport said on X/Twitter.
Carr was 13-of-18 with 103 passing yards and a touchdown pass. He had a touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham in the first quarter.
After a 17-0 lead, the Packers would reel off 18 straight points and win the game. The Saints would suffer their first loss of the year.
