The offseason has not been good for Derek Carr as he had to deal with nonstop talk about being replaced and not going to Las Vegas with the Raiders when they officially made the move from Oakland.
The Raiders were the most talked about team that would pursue Tom Brady in free agency, but he ultimately signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr recently shed some light on the situation and how he felt about the constant rumors:
“Yeah, let’s be honest, the dude has won six Super Bowls,” Carr told Vic Tafur of The Athletic. “You have to be crazy to not watch his film and talk about it when he is a free agent. Right? You’re going to watch film of Tom Brady. Like, where’s he at?”
Well, he’s not lying. You don’t watch a QB win as much as Tom Brady did throughout his career and not think about bringing that winning culture to your team.
Carr tossed for 4,054 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions during the 2019 season where the Raiders finished 7-9 and missed the postseason.
He will now have a weapon in Henry Ruggs to throw to after the team drafted him 12th overall.
