The Steelers will not be making any coaching changes following their blowout loss to the Texans to fall to 2-2 in the 2023 NFL season. However, after adding an offense to the practice squad, the Steelers are also signing a veteran wide receiver.
According to Mike Garafolo, the Steelers are signing WR Denzel Mims to the practice squad.
Mike Garafolo added that he is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered in training camp.
The 25-year-old was a second-round draft pick of the Jets in 2020. He spent three seasons in New York before he was traded to the Lions this summer.
Mims should feel good about this team since Frisman Jackson, who is the Steelers wide receivers coach, coached him while he was at Baylor.
Mims is a former second-round pick by the New York Jets in the 2020 NFL Draft. Mims flashed as a rookie with the Jets, averaging 15.5 yards per catch in nine games but struggled to carve out a role.
