The Dallas Cowboys were ticked off by one of the latest moves around the league as the Detroit Lions secured a trade for an offensive player they wanted to bring in as a target for quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys are keen on surrounding Prescott with formidable threats for the upcoming season, yet the Lions had other ideas as they stole a march on a player the NFC side had an interest in.
Prescott has not had much luck as a QB in Dallas. Though he is one of the best throwers of the ball, he has consistently failed in the playoffs and hasn’t gotten close to the Super Bowl-winning potential the Cowboys believe he has.
It’s believed that America’s Team suffered its first offseason defeat after contacting the New York Jets over a move for Denzel Mims.
The Jets were keen on trading the wide receiver after an underwhelming spell in New York and were going to release him this week had they not found a trade partner.

It’s reported that the Cowboys were looking to sign him once he got cut but the Lions ended up making the move, giving the Jets a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick in exchange for Mims and a 2025 seventh-round pick.
While the Cowboys were intent on adding a new pass catcher to their offense, they weren’t prepared to give away a draft pick. Detroit, though, shared no such qualms.
