For what seems like the hundredth time this year, Russell Wilson’s name is being dragged through the mud over a claim of something he does while on the field.
The latest in the Wilson-Denver saga is whether or not he is using the right audibles. Tyler Polumbus, a former NFL offensive lineman, said Wilson is confusing his teammates with his verbiage choices.
“Russ is losing his mind out there,” Polumbus said, via the New York Post. “He’s using audibles from the Seahawks. The guys don’t know the audibles. He’s using codewords that the guys don’t know.”
Per KOA’s Ryan Edwards, Broncos left guard Dalton Risner dismissed those “BS” claims.
“That’s BS,” Risner said. “There hasn’t been a single time he’s made a check at the line that we didn’t know what it was.”

When asked about the situation, Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett didn’t exactly deny that Wilson is using old Seahawks audibles.
“It’s news to me,” Hackett said. “He does have freedom at the line, when he sees certain things, to be able to check to them. We’ve built this system around him. So all the words that he utilizes, I mean, some are from the past, some are from the new. … Nothing (abnormal) that I’ve heard. He’s done everything that we’ve asked, and we just need to do it at a higher level in order to get some wins.”
Despite the acquisition of Russell Wilson, the Broncos’ offense has been a complete disaster this season. What should’ve been a sight to see on offense has led to the team averaging an NFL worst 14.6 points per game and its $245 million man has thrown just seven touchdown passes to go with five interceptions.
Whatever is going on out on the field, it is not working and the 2022 season seemingly looks lost.
At 3-6 they’re a game out of last place in the AFC West.
