With the Jacksonville Jaguars well out of the playoff race, star running back Travis Etienne Jr. has been widely floated as a strong candidate to be moved before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
The Jaguars already picked up the fifth-year option on Travis Etienne’s rookie deal, keeping him signed through the 2026 season. That only enhances his trade value, since the team acquiring Etienne would have him for two potential playoff runs instead of one.
The emergence of 2023 second-round pick Tank Bigsby (493 rushing yards and four touchdowns in eight games) only adds to the case that Jacksonville would be better off trading Etienne.
A two-time 1,000-yard rusher like Travis Etienne should have considerable interest on the trade market. But most NFL playoff contenders already have an established RB1, meaning one club especially stands out as a landing spot for Etienne.
That team would be Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos, who are 5-3 heading into Sunday’s clash with the Baltimore Ravens. Incredibly, Denver hasn’t had a 1,000-yard rusher or receiver since 2019.

Their lead rusher, Javonte Williams, has just 345 yards in eight games. That puts him at a pace below 1,000 yards, not to mention that Williams will be a free agent after the 2024 season.
If Payton’s squad landed Travis Etienne, they’d have a top-tier running back duo to fuel the playoff run and take some pressure off of rookie quarterback Bo Nix. And with Williams likely leaving in free agency, the Broncos would have their RB1 in Etienne lined up for next season.
What Broncos Should Offer Jaguars For Travis Etienne
The Broncos should offer the Jaguars a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick that becomes a third-rounder if they make the postseason and a 2026 seventh-round pick. The running back position is devaluing more and more each year, so this would be a reasonable price for a player who doesn’t fit in Jacksonville’s long-term plans anyway.
