Nathaniel Hackett is out. So who’s going to replace him?
We don’t know who the long-term answer to that question will be, but we do know that for the time being, it will be the team’s former senior assistant, Jerry Rosburg, who will now be working as the Broncos’ interim head coach.
As many pointed out shortly after the announcement, Rosburg was the man who was hired by Hackett during the season to help him manage the clock after several clock-management miscues early on in the year.
It was also being reported by the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Broncos GM George Paton had told his players that defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero was offered the interim head coaching position. He turned it down, however, opting to continue focusing on the team’s defense for the final two weeks of the season instead.
Evero is expected to be one of the many individuals who the Broncos will consider for the full-time head coaching gig in 2023.
