The NFL world mourned the passing of former wide receiver Demaryius Thomas following a shocking announcement at the end of 2021.
Thomas, a Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowler with the Denver Broncos, tragically passed away on December 9 of that year, with the cause of death believed to be a seizure caused by injuries he suffered in a car crash two years before.
The former WR is back in the news this week, with the Broncos having announced on Wednesday that he will be inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. Thomas is set to be honored posthumously, among other late greats including former NFL wide receiver Vincent Jackson and Olympic skier Jimmy Heuga. Former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl will be inducted as well.
Thomas spent eight seasons with the Broncos, who drafted him as the 22nd overall pick in 2010. Apart from helping the Broncos win a Super Bowl, the erstwhile pass catcher was a two-time Second-Team All-Pro and a four-time Pro Bowler who still owns multiple receiving records in Denver.
The announcement from the Broncos has prompted heartwarming reactions online.
