The Dallas Cowboys are having a rough week as they have now lost two young stars before their rookie season even begins.
Saturday night was a costly one for the Dallas Cowboys. It was reported on Sunday that rookie linebacker DeMarvion Overshown tore his left ACL in the exhibition match against the Seattle Seahawks which means he will miss all of his rookie season.
That wasn’t the only person they would lose. Just moments after the Overshown news was announced, The Dallas Morning News also reported that rookie undrafted free agent tight end John Stephens Jr. will also miss 2023 with a torn left ACL.
Stephens, an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana, caught five passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in Dallas’ first preseason game and made one reception for six yards in their preseason game over the weekend before his injury.
Overshown, a third-round pick out of Texas, injured his knee in the first quarter making a tackle.
The Cowboys fell in their second preseason game to the Seahawks by a 22-14 score, but that pails in comparison to the players that they have now lost.
