The Dallas Cowboys suffered a difficult loss Sunday, losing at home to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card playoff game to end their once promising season.
Following the loss, fans were seen throwing trash on the field. The trash appeared to be for the refs, but it hit Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence, leaving many to assume the fans were aiming for players.
After the game, Lawrence addressed the notion of fans throwing trash at players.
“That shit was aimed at the refs… It had nothing to do with me,” said Lawrence.
As you saw, the Dak Prescott took off up the middle of the field for a first down run with just seconds to play, but they had zero timeouts. A referee came charging in from behind to spot the ball, but the Cowboys were already lined up,. He collided with Presoctt and the time ran out.
Fans will point to that as to why they lost, but in reality, the Cowboys shot themselves in the foot. The Cowboys committed 14 penalties for 89 yards. The 14 penalties tied the franchise record for most penalties in a playoff game.
