Very few athletes are so gifted that they are able to compete professionally in multiple sports. The two names that come to mind when talking about multi-sport athletes are Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson. Both played in the NFL and MLB in the late 80’s and early 90’s, which begs the question, which sport is actually harder to succeed in?
While appearing on the Club Shay Shay podcast, host and fellow NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe posed this very question to Prime and here is what he had to say:
There you have it, according to Deion, baseball was by far the most difficult sport for him and he also surprisingly states that football was actually the easiest compared to the other sports he competed in including basketball and track & field.
Many believe that hitting a baseball travelling at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour with movement is the toughest thing to consistently be successful at in any sport and Sanders tends to agree.
Although Deion’s baseball career was nowhere near as successful as his Hall of Fame football career, just the fact that he was able to compete in both sports professionally is a rare feat that only a handful of athletes can say they achieved.
