Having a long football career means you have to deal with some post football injuries later in life and nothing can suck more than turf toe.
Legendary NFL cornerback Deion Sanders, who now coaches at Jackson State in Mississippi, famously dealt with a turf toe injury toward the end of his time with the Dallas Cowboys. Back in 2018, he spoke to Dan Patrick about his foot injuries.
“It’s the closest thing they call to ‘turf toe.’ It was just horrendous, I mean, I’ve never felt anything like it. It was so bad it had begun to be hammertoe, so they have to shave it down and straighten it out, and that’s what I got,” Sanders said.
The college football head coach recently had surgery to get his foot situation fixed and showed off the gruesome looking recovery he is under.
The Hall of Famer was told to keep off his left foot for the next six weeks.
