Coach Prime needs our help!
Deion Sanders took to Twitter on Thursday to ask the public for their assistance. The head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes is looking for a former teammate who he claims was also one of his “fishing buddies.”
In the Tweet, Sanders asks his followers if they can help him find Jumpy Geathers, who he spent one season playing with back in 1993, when both players were members of the Atlanta Falcons.
Geathers was a defensive tackle who spent 14 seasons in the NFL. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 1984 draft. He would go on to join Washington in 1990, where he would spend three seasons and win his first of two career Super Bowls.
In 1993, Geathers joined Sanders and the Falcons, but he would only get to play one season with Prime Time, who went on to join the eventual Super Bowl-champion San Francisco 49ers in 1994.
Jumpy Geathers (real name “James Allen Geathers”) retired from the NFL in 1997, after two seasons with the Denver Broncos. He went out on a high note, with his last game being a Super Bowl XXXII victory over the Brett Favre’s Green Bay Packers.
