Deion Sanders said he was going to call out the teams that didn’t come to Jackson State football’s pro day. And he delivered on that promise.
On Tuesday, the hall of fame legend named each team that wasn’t in attendance in an Instagram video.
“24 teams. 24 teams came to witness our kids yesterday in it’s entirety. And I appreciate you,” Sanders said. “But, there’s 32 teams in this Crayola box. Therefore, the Dolphins, the Broncos, the Texans, the Bills, the Buccaneers, the Ravens, the Panthers, the Browns, the Vikings, and the Eagles, where art thou? You could have sent somebody man. You could have shown up just a little bit.”
“I guarantee you that you’re gonna go to Mississippi State and Ole Miss … I understand,” Sanders concluded. “But guess what, we’re coming … And when we arrive, you better be here. Because our kids deserve it.”
He wrote in his Instagram caption that he understands, but he doesn’t condone the behavior of attending other in-state pro days while skipping his.
“Yesterday was phenomenal, I meant flat out phenomenal,” Sanders said. “All the kids that participated in Pro Day, hats off to you, God bless you. The people that came in support, the coaches from the SWAC schools and various schools that came there to stand for your kid, hey, I love you.”
No HBCU players were selected in the 2021 NFL Draft and Sanders is trying his best to change that at Jackson State.

He told the Clarion Ledger, “That’s not going to happen again … My desire is 7-10 players this year. Then we’re going to try to double that.”
