In today’s case of “Don’t believe everything you read or see on the internet”, we present a doctored video of a 1994 post-game interview starring then-San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deion Sanders.
“Prime Time” and his Colorado Buffaloes have been the most pleasant surprise of the young 2023 NCAA football season thus far. Sanders inherited a team that won a single game last year and already has them sitting pretty at 3-0.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), a video clip of Sanders’ legendary 1994 “This is my house” soundbite has resurfaced. As you can see in the video clip below Sanders makes his statement with a a Colorado Buffaloes’ logo on the wall behind him:

Sorry to break it to you, folks. But this is a doctored video. Sanders did not correctly predict his future with the Buffaloes 29 years ago.
The iconic clip took place AFTER Sanders and the 49ers crushed his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, at the Georgia Dome. The interview takes place at 3:38, and there’s clearly no Colorado Buffaloes’ logo on the wall behind him:
And as other heads-up fans noted, the Buffaloes’ logo that was edited into that clip wasn’t even the one the school used back in 1994.
Sanders played for the Falcons from 1989 to 1993, putting the Falcons on the football map with his beloved personality and all-world play. He signed with the 49ers in 1994, winning Defensive Player of the Year honors and his first of two Super Bowl Rings during his lone year on the west coast.
