Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has declared that the NBA would have never let the move that took place in free agency in the NFL this Tuesday happen on their watch.
Derrick Henry has left the Tennessee Titans, signing with the Baltimore Ravens to the tune of $16 million over two years. The acquisition leaves the Ravens looking a whole lot stronger given Henry’s prowess, and Coach Prime reckons they’re now favorites to win the Super Bowl.
Taking to X, the Buffaloes HC claimed it’s already over for the rest of the NFL while stating the NBA would have vetoed such a signing if it happened in basketball.

“@KingHenry_2 with the @Ravens & @Lj_era8 Lord have mercy on the rest of the league because it’s a rap!!!” he wrote. “The @NBA would’ve Blocked this move. WOW! This is epic but I hate the way we’ve allowed the RB position to be devalued. #CoachPrime.”
The NBA Has Sort Of Done This Before
The NBA famously blocked Chris Paul’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2011 lockout. The trade would have seen the point guard move from New Orleans to L.A., with Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom set to join the Hornets. However, the late David Stern called it off.

Of course, the NBA would have been powerless to stop Paul from going to the Lakers if he was a free agent, which is the case with Henry. We probably shouldn’t be taking Coach Prime literally here anyhow.
