Deebo Samuel went from one of the more liked players in the entire league to possibly one of the more disliked with his behavior this offseason.
Demanding a trade from a team you don’t want to play for anymore is one thing, but straight-up dissing children that look up to you is downright disrespectful.
During a recent football camp, the San Francisco 49ers star WR was viewed not only looking at a child who asked for his autograph but walking right past him like he didn’t even exist. The kid proceeded to hold his head down in shame and heartbreak.
Just horrible behavior from a star in the league.
Once again this offseason, Deebo had to watch another NFL wide receiver see his bank account grow. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Washington Commanders are signing Terry McLaurin to a three-year extension worth up to $71 million in new money with $53.2 million guaranteed.
Meanwhile, everyone is still waiting to see how the San Francisco 49ers resolve their situation with their star-wideout, Deebo Samuel.

Samuel and McLaurin were part of the same 2019 draft class. McLaurin has surpassed 900 receiving yards in each of his three NFL seasons and surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past two. Samuel had a breakout year last season, recording 1,405 receiving yards as part of his 1,770 all-purpose yards.
The 49ers do have leverage. Samuel is still under contract for one more season. After that, the team can utilize the franchise tag if things don’t go as hoped.
