Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has his first team visit lined up.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hopkins will be flying into Nashville this Sunday to meet with the Tennessee Titans.
The Arizona Cardinals released Hopkins, who was entering the final year of his contract with the club, on May 26. Hopkins was the subject of constant trade talks in the offseason, but the Redbirds were unable to complete a trade for their liking.
Despite missing eight games last season, Hopkins finished with a superb stat line of 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touchdowns. The five-time Pro Bowler was suspended six games for violating the NFL’s PEDs policy, and he missed the club’s last two games with a knee injury.
The Titans could certainly use a playmaker of Hopkins’ caliber. Their leading receiver of 2022, Robert Woods, finished with only 527 receiving yards. The Titans wound up cutting Woods, who subsequently signed with the Tennessee Titans.
2022 first-rounder Treylon Burks, who missed six games last year, is the top wideout on Tennessee’s depth chart. Burks had a frustrating rookie year, hauling in just 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown.

Adding Hopkins to an offense led by two-time rushing champion Derrick Henry and veteran QB Ryan Tannehill could go a long way in helping the Titans reemerge as a playoff contender in the AFC. But of course, the Titans certainly aren’t the only club that will push hard to land the superstar wideout.
