The race to sign DeAndre Hopkins is heating up as a new team has popped up as a potential destination.
The wide receiver is a free agent at the moment, with the Arizona Cardinals releasing him from his contract in May.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the wideout is set to visit the New England Patriots next week, having already scheduled a visit with the Tennessee Titans. It’s understood that he will see the Pats after his Titans visit – that is if he leaves Tennesee without putting pen to paper on a deal.
The Patriots Present An Intriguing Option
Should Hopkins sign with the Pats, it would make them one of the more interesting teams in the NFL. New England hasn’t had a top-tier receiver on their roster in several years and he would provide Mac Jones with one of the choicest options a quarterback could ask for.
Jones is in dire need of such a target after struggling in 2022 and, while D-Hop has missed 15 games over the past two seasons (six through suspension), he is still one of the best WRs in the league and doesn’t need a whole lot of pace or separation to excel.
The 31-year-old’s catching ability is actually scary, and he seems to turn it up a notch in coverage. If the Pats could add him to a receiving crew now boasting JuJu Smith-Schuster, they could be quite a force in the AFC.

For now, they should be hoping he doesn’t join the Titans.
