NFL star Von Miller should be a credible source, given that he’s in the know about plenty. But fans would be forgiven for being skeptical about anything he says regarding trades and free-agent signings.
The linebacker must have had Buffalo Bills fans excited after claiming Odell Beckham Jr. wanted to play for the team last offseason. That was on the back of the wide receiver visiting the Bills.
Now, he’s saying pretty much the same thing about DeAndre Hopkins, whom he says he speaks to regularly and has told him he wants to be traded to Buffalo. But Miller did admit to the similarities between the two cases.
Beckham has opted to join the Baltimore Ravens this year, signing a one-year deal worth $15 million. Hopkins’ future remains in the air while it is known that the Arizona Cardinals are looking to trade him.
“I talk to Hop all the time and it’s kind of like the same thing with OBJ,” Miller was quoted as saying by Buffalonews.com. “You just never know until you know. Hop said he wanted to be a Buffalo Bill and you never know until you get that DeAndre Hopkins signature on a contract.
“I’m not sure what the circumstances are or what’s going on with that but I would love to see DeAndre Hopkins be here and I would love to have his skill set on our offense with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs and Dawson Knox and Gabe Davis.”

In Miller’s defense, Hopkins hinted he’d be keen on a move to the Bills just this past weekend, when he made an appearance on All Things Covered. Host Bryant McFadden asked him to use body language and facial expressions to show how he felt about being traded to certain destinations.
He did not seem to be interested in the New York Jets or New England Patriots but appeared to be fine with the idea of joining either the Bills or Kansas City Chiefs.
