DeAndre Hopkins knows all about how good Patrick Mahomes is since he saw it first hand in the playoffs months ago when the Houston Texans faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Since Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a huge 10-year extension worth around $450 million, making him the highest-paid athlete in sports, many around the league have taken to social media to congratulate him.
One of these players is former Houston Texans’ wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, who took to Twitter and simply could not pass up the opportunity to throw some shade at his former squad.
The “24 reasons why Mahomes deserves that” is a clear reference of the Texans having a 24-0 lead over the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional playoff matchup which they would go on to squander by halftime and still lose by double digits.
Following the season, Hopkins was shockingly shipped out of Houston and sent to the Cardinals for often-injured running back David Johnson and a second round draft pick.
Hopkins and Texans head coach/general manager Bill O’Brien were not fans of each other, so a decision was made. Some….possibly all would say the wrong decision.
