Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins may have hinted that he wants to join the New England Patriots on the back of his release.
The 30-year-old has emerged as a prime receiving option on the market this offseason, with the Arizona Cardinals cutting him from their roster in a shocking move last Friday.
Several teams are thought to be in the running for the player and two frontrunners have been named. The Patriots are not one of them, yet New England could be his dream destination as he recently posted a video of him watching a Pats Super Bowl game to his Instagram Story.
You can see that right below:
Prior to his release last week, Hopkins revealed the type of team e would like to play for next, outlining three requirements. The wide receiver said he wants to be part of a stable organization that could compete for a championship with a good quarterback who loves the game.
There are a few teams around the league that fit the bill. The Patriots do have stable management, but Mac Jones is not among the top QBs in the league and the team is not considered to be a Super Bowl contender, though they could pull off a surprise run in 2023. We’ll just have to wait and see.

The teams that fit the description perfectly are not WR-needy either, but with a talent such as Hopkins now on the market, things could get interesting.
