DeAndre Hopkins is still on the Arizona Cardinals’ roster following reports he would be traded during the recent draft period.
Hopkins has been the subject of trade rumors for months now. And, while there’s nothing definitive as it pertains to his future, the wide receiver seemed to suggest he’s set to stay in an Instagram Live video posted this Monday.
“I see everybody telling me to stay, who said I want to go? Who said I want to leave?” he said in the clip, which shows him working out in Phoenix. “I’m out here working.”
The Cardinals did make trades on the weekend, three to be exact, but Hopkins was not part of any of them and is likely to suit up for the team in 2023.
General manager Monti Ossenfort, who spoke after the first round of the draft, said he didn’t see the player getting traded at any point during the event.
“I don’t foresee that happening,” he said, per ESPN. “I don’t know what is going to happen here in the next couple days. Right now, I don’t foresee that happening, no.”

“DeAndre’s a Cardinal and we’re moving forward,” he added later on.
Hopkins carries a cap hit of $30.75 million for 2023, hence the trade rumors. The 30-year-old also only appeared in nine games last season as he served a six-game suspension for PEDs and was injured for another three matches.
Even so, he led the team in receiving yards with 717 and was their best offensive weapon whenever he did play.
