A blockbuster trade proposal has the Tennessee Titans adding another star wide receiver to help out recent free agent signing DeAndre Hopkins.
Last month, the Titans signed the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-team All-Pro to a two-year deal worth $26 million following — two months after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals.
But what if the Titans remained aggressive and added yet another dynamic playmaker to complement Hopkins and second-year wideout Treylon Burks?
ESPN’s Seth Walder proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Titans landing Las Vegas Raiders’ star wideout Hunter Renfrow and a 2024 sixth-round draft choice in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick:
“The Titans looked like a potential rebuild candidate going into the offseason, but quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry remained on the roster, and the team recently signed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, clearly signaling its intention to win in 2023. Hopkins was a start to fixing a deficient receiving group that featured Treylon Burks, a 2022 first-round pick who was just OK in his rookie season (444 receiving yards in 11 games), and not a whole lot else.
Renfrow would likely be a significant upgrade in the slot over Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, who finished with the second-worst overall score in ESPN’s receiver tracking metrics (RTMs) last season, or Kyle Philips, a 2022 fifth-rounder who had eight receptions in an injury-shortened rookie campaign.”
Walder also noted that the Raiders signed ex-New England Patriot Jakobi Meyers and drafted Cincinnati Bearcats’ product Tre Tucker, who are also slot receivers. Meyers, of course, worked with current Raiders’ head coach Josh McDaniels in New England when the latter was the Patriots’ offensive coordinator.

So Renfrow is expendable, and he could be available for the right price. A team like Tennessee could use a third down blanket and shifty wideout like Renfrow who is two seasons removed from a career year in which he caught 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns.
Renfrow’s breakout 2021 season led to him earning a two-year contract extension worth $32 million last offseason. For his career, the 27-year-old has 244 receptions for 2,629 yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Raiders and Titans will both open their 2023 seasons on the road against the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints, respectively, on Sept. 10.
