DeAndre Hopkins remains a free agent following his release from Arizona at the end of May. And it’s reported that a third team has crept up in the race to sign him to a deal.
The wide receiver is believed to be mulling over offers from the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans, having visited both teams amid his search for a new home. However, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs are also in play.
According to Fowler, the Super Bowl champions are interested in the possibility of signing Hopkins and are staying in contact with the wideout.
“The Chiefs have kept in contact I’m told,” he said this week, “and they have, certainly, some interest.”
The opportunities should be enticing all around. The Patriots and Titans could afford to pay D-Hop the money he wants, but the Chiefs could put him in a winning situation right away. So this could come down to what he wants more: a bag or a ring.
Hopkins is reported to be after a contract similar to the one Odell Beckham Jr. got with the Baltimore Ravens, with OBJ getting a $15 million deal plus add-ons to play with Lamar Jackson earlier this year.

While he has not visited the Chiefs, the 31-year-old WR would likely be tempted should they make him an offer.
