Last week, three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year commented on a post from the league’s official Instagram account that was wishing him a Happy Birthday that he would love to see the rights to the Oilers jerseys given back to the city of Houston.
Thank you NFL. I’ll check the mail for my present. (Gift idea hint: Get the Titans to give us the rights to the Houston Oilers throwback uniforms)
On Wednesday, superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins seemed to agree with that assessment when he took to Instagram and posted a photo of himself in an Oilers uniform.
He asked his followers “Who would like to see this?”
The Oilers played in Houston from 1960 to 1996, where they would move to Tennessee and eventually change the name to the Titans. They hold the rights to those jerseys.
