DeAndre Hopkins has many teams that would love to have him, but he is clearly looking for the biggest deal he can obtain after he was released from the Arizona Cardinals.
There’s at least a trio of teams vying for his services. The Patriots and Titans — the two perceived front-runners — have had communication with Hopkins and both teams reportedly have offers on the table, though no signing is imminent.
The Buffalo Bills are being mentioned as potential suitors for Hopkins, but they know they don’t have the money to entice him like other teams. However, they are trying a different route to get him into town.
They reportedly want Hopkins to sign on by accepting less money while trying to chase a ring.
Jeff Darlington of ESPN revealed that he sensed Hopkins had priced himself out of Buffalo, despite the Bills’ strong interest in adding him to their roster.
Darlington stated, “My understanding with the Bills is like, yeah, they love DeAndre Hopkins, he’d be a great addition, but they’re not gonna pay him.”

Of the two teams involved in the Hopkins race, the Patriots have the most salary cap money available at an estimated $17.7 million while the Titans have about $8 million. The Bills have $5 million.
The Titans have been more aggressive to this point, ESPN reported Saturday, but Hopkins hasn’t been in a rush to sign. Despite the buzz about the wide receiver potentially landing with New England and Tennessee, the Chiefs remain another possibility, according to ESPN, as they remain in talks with the free agent.
“The Chiefs have kept in contact,” Jeremy Fowler reported, “and they have, certainly, some interest.”
If the Bills can add Hopkins, it could create one of the more deadliest pairings with Stefon Diggs.
