Given a choice between his NFL career and smoking marijuana, David Irving essentially picked the sticky icky over making millions of dollars and he seems just fine with that.
The Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle announced his decision on Thursday, blasting the NFL and defending his weed consumption by smoking a blunt on Instagram live.
Weeks before becoming an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career, Irving was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for a third violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.
The 25-year-old has no regrets of his decision and certainly has no plans to reverse course as he stated during an interview with TMZ Sports. He also had a message from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
“No regrets whatsoever,” Irving says … “I know what I wanted to do. I’ve had plenty of time to think about it.”
“I’m living my life. They can do whatever the hell they want to do in their life.”
