David Carr really had to get something off his chest, so he came for just about everybody.
The impending divorce between Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders are really starting to get nasty and now his brother is adding way more fuel to the fire.
Carr recently took to his podcast and took some passive-aggressive shots at Tom Brady, owner Mark Davis, and the Raiders organization.
“Look, let’s be honest; it’s my brother. He’s going to go find another job. He’s going to try and play quarterback in the NFL again with another NFL team. Right now, it’s a little touchy. There are some things going on; they [the Raiders] are trying to work out a trade. Derek has to accept the trade. Mark Davis once tried to trade me, but that didn’t work out. See how it works out for him with my brother. Yes, eventually we will shoot a podcast. It’ll be fun. We’ll dig into what went wrong. I know Raiders fans are excited to dig into this and learn what happened inside the walls of Las Vegas. We’re going to wait. Okay, we’re going to wait. The Raiders are moving on to a new quarterback. Maybe it’s Tom Brady. That was exciting, right? You guys enjoyed that the other day? It’ll be fun, and you guys will do great.”
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels announced on Dec. 28 that Jarrett Stidham was starting the final two games of the season. Benching Carr did allow the Raiders to avoid having his $32.9 million base salary in 2023 become fully guaranteed if he had gotten injured in either of the last two games.
Despite the publicity surrounding Carr’s departure, there does not seem to be a growing market for his services. The Colts and Commanders have already taken themselves out of the running.

Chances are the Raiders won’t be able to trade him and will be forced to cut him instead. From there, Carr can meet and sign with any team that chooses to take him on. It is not guaranteed that he will start.
The Raiders went 63-79 in 142 games with Carr as their starter.
