When it comes to breaking big stories, journalists from around the country are always trying to get a leg up on beating others for news.
That includes Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, but it backfired in a huge way all because he did not proofread what he wrote before hitting send.
Garafolo wanted to be one of the first to break that Derek Carr was taking his talents to the New Orleans Saints on a four-year deal, but he mistakenly put his brother, David.
David Carr was selected first overall in the 2002 NFL Draft by the newest NFL franchise, the Houston Texans. Carr would win a ring as a backup with the Giants and retire from the game back in 2012 after 12 seasons played.
The Fresno State product would see his name trending on social media, and he gave an epic response to the news that he was signing with the Saints.

As for his brother, Carr agreed to a deal that could potentially be worth up to $150 million and includes up to $100 million in guarantees.
The Saints, who finished 7-10 last season, were among three teams, including the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, to have pursued Carr for several weeks. Carr visited New Orleans early on in February but opted to not try for a trade and demanded the Raiders release him instead. Once that happened, the move would make sure his former team would not be helped out at all.
Last season, Carr finished with 3,522 passing yards, 24 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions, and an 86.3 passer rating (a career low).
