Former NFL quarterback David Carr has perhaps voiced the most shocking take of the season as he has called for the Philadelphia Eagles to bench Jalen Hurts ahead of Sunday’s NFC thriller vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Stay with us here; he can explain…
In case you think he might have been joking, the man was dead serious. Carr has suggested that the Eagles should take Hurts out of the starting lineup for the time being and start Marcus Mariota in his place.
He argued that sitting the MVP candidate could benefit from a break given his health issues this season, also criticizing his ability to read a defense while dropping back.

As you would imagine, fans responded to this by trashing Carr’s opinion on social media. You can see some of their reactions below:
To be fair, Hurts was checked for a concussion against San Francisco on Sunday and has been dealing with a knee injury all season. You wouldn’t know it if you watched him play, however.
To suggest sitting one of the best quarterbacks in the lead ahead of what could be their most important game of the season has to be the wildest take we’ve heard all year.
