A top contender in the NFC has been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Las Vegas Raiders’ superstar wideout Davante Adams.
The 30-year-old Adams made headlines earlier this week when he said the Raiders weren’t doing the right things to build “a winning culture.” This came after the Raiders dropped a frustrating 23-18 contest to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Many took this as a sign that Adams is growing more and more frustrated, and that he may eventually ask for a trade.
Matt Lombardo of FanBuzz listed six teams as logical landing spots for Adams. One of those teams? The NFC powerhouse San Francisco 49ers, one of the final three remaining undefeated teams:
“49ers general manager John Lynch hasn’t been shy about adding marquee weapons, especially after trading for Christian McCaffrey prior to last year’s trade deadline, and Adams would add yet another new wrinkle to Kyle Shanahan’s offense…
Giving Shanahan an additional chess piece like Adams to stretch the field will make the 49ers’ offense even more taxing on opposing defensive coordinators and further buttress Brock Purdy as needing to do little more than manage the game with an abundance of game-changing weapons around him.”
The 49ers already have four elite playmakers in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. Adding one of the game’s top-three receivers in Adams would make this already-prolific offense even more dangerous.

If Adams hits the trade block, there will certainly be plenty of teams interested in his services. But if his main goal is to win a Super Bowl, then Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers are definitely among the top landing spots.
