Davante Adams to the New York Jets is a “done deal,” according to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky.
There is some chatter regarding a potential trade between the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders that would reunite Adams with former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers. And Orlovsky reckons there’s some merit to it given what the wide receiver was heard saying on the new Netflix series, ‘Receiver.’
The former NFL quarterback is of the view that a trade is inevitable and the only thing that would stop it is if Adams feels bad for new head coach Antonio Pierce.
“I think Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season,” he said during ‘Get Up’ on Tuesday. “The reason why I say that is this: Have you watched Netflix, the ‘Receiver’ stuff, have you seen the frustration from Davante Adams? It’s not that much better of a situation (now.) The only reason it wouldn’t happen is if he would feel bad about leaving Antonio Pierce, their new head coach.”
Aaron Rodgers Is Still Trying His Best To Get Davante Adams To Join Him In NY
Adams recently admitted that Rodgers has been in his ear about joining the Jets. But he also urged the Raiders to keep Pierce as head coach following the firing of Josh McDaniels and loves playing for him.

Rodgers also played the role of instigator this past weekend, saying he “can’t wait to play with him again” while referring to Adams at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.
Of course, the Jets trading for Davante Adams is easier said than done. The wideout is heading into the third year of a five-year $140 million deal and will make $17.5 million in 2024. The Raiders aren’t letting him leave on the cheap either.
