Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was not best pleased to learn his teammate and best friend Derek Carr is set to be benched for the rest of the season.
Team head coach Josh McDaniels made the shocking announcement on Wednesday, voicing an indication to go with the younger Jarrett Stidham for the rest of the regular season. It’s not as if the Raiders’ fate has been sealed as it pertains to the playoffs because it’s still mathematically possible for them to qualify, yet they’ve decided to bench the QB they’ve depended on for nine seasons in favor of someone who is still unproven.
It’s been reported that the Raiders are intent on trading Carr and, as such, have opted to shut him down for the remainder of the season in order to preserve him.
Breaking Up The Adams Family Was Never Going To Be Easy…
Well, Adams is having none of it and defended his teammate while speaking to reporters on Wednesday, pointing out that Carr is the only reason he decided to sign for Vegas.
That wasn’t enough, though. The WR has also taken to Instagram to show support for Derek while also lashing out at those who don’t respect his feelings on the matter.
“This man gave everything he had. The reason I’m a Raider…One of the most disciplined and loving people I know,” he wrote as the caption to some photos and videos of him and Carr together. “Got my bruddas back through whatever and if you can’t respect it (excuse my language) ??you!!! ??♂️??♂️??♂️ Love u bruh.”
