Could Davante Adams return to the Green Bay Packers, less than two years after they traded him to the Las Vegas Raiders? One Packers’ reporter thinks it’s a possibility.
In the 2022 offseason, Green Bay traded the future Hall of Famer to Las Vegas in exchange for 2022 first and second-round picks. Adams then signed a massive five-year deal with the Raiders worth $140 million.
On a recent edition of the “Locked On Packers” podcast (h/t Sean Deveney of Heavy.com), Peter Bukowski suggested that Adams may “be open to” returning to the NFL team that helped develop him into a superstar:
“A Davante Adams return? Perhaps. Maybe he’d be open to it. He sees Jordan Love balling out, Jordan Love lights them up in Las Vegas and Davante Adams says, ‘Hey, I’d love to come back, come get me.'”
Though Adams put up incredible numbers for the Raiders last season (100 catches, 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns), the team never found its rhythm and finished a disappointing 6-11. In their final year with Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay also underperformed and finished with 8-9, due largely to the lack of explosive pass-catching playmakers.

If the Raiders are out of playoff contention leading up to the deadline, there will be plenty of speculation about a potential Adams trade. There’s also a good possibility that given his pricy contract, the Raiders would opt to wait until the offseason to move him.
Adams’ Raiders open their season with a road contest against the Denver Broncos next Sunday, and the Packers will travel to Windy City for a showdown with the longtime rival Chicago Bears.
