If Aaron Rodgers is indeed playing his final season with the Green bay Packers, then it might be likely the franchise will be losing two cornerstone players.
While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams was asked about his future with the franchise. After the 2021 season is over, Adams will be a free agent.
Adams was asked if his future in Green Bay is connected to Aaron Rodgers, and he confirmed that it is.
“Naturally,” replied Adams, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “Why wouldn’t it? I’m playing with the best quarterback to play the game … It won’t be the end-all-be-all, but it’ll definitely be something I’m monitoring.”
The latest drama surrounding Rodgers’ potential future comes months after he made the decision to return following an extended offseason holdout. He would eventually come back after he received a restructured contract in the process and securing a larger voice in making organizational decisions. One such decision he made was to request the team trade for former top target Randall Cobb, which the team accomplished.
The five-time Pro Bowler, who has become one of the NFL’s top receivers, has 106 catches for 1,362 yards this year, just shy of his career-highs of 115 catches and 1,386 receiving yards with two games left to play.
