Davante Adams isn’t all that happy with the Las Vegas Raiders despite a great first season with the team on a personal front.
The wide receiver registered 1,516 receiving yards in his debut Sin City campaign, also scoring 14 touchdowns all while proving he can be one of the best pass catchers in the NFL whether or not he’s playing with Aaron Rodgers.
Now he’s going to have to prove he could be that without his buddy Derek Carr. The New Orleans Saints quarterback was one of the biggest reasons Adams joined the Raiders, however, the team sat the QB down with two games still to go in the regular season and attempted to trade him before releasing him earlier this year.
The Raiders have replaced Carr with Jimmy Garoppolo, a proven veteran, yet Adams does not seem all that convinced.
“They (the front office) think this is the best bet for us right now to put us in a position to be urgent. We don’t see eye-to-eye on what we think is best for us right now,” he told The Ringer in a recent interview. “If we play a certain brand of ball, I can get [Garoppolo] to conform to whatever. But if we use him a certain type of way, then it’s going to make it tough for us to maximize who we should be this year.”
It appears the wideout is not sold on the franchise’s long-term vision. Having to play on a team without Rodgers was still okay as he was catching passes from a Pro Bowler who’s also his best friend. But things are going to be different in 2023, and Davante doesn’t seem to be on board.

The two-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader also admitted trying to recruit Rodgers in the offseason, though the former Packers QB was never under consideration by the Raiders. Rodgers has since been traded to the Jets.
