An intriguing trade proposal has the Las Vegas Raiders dealing superstar wide receiver Davante Adams to an up-and-coming team in the AFC.
The 30-year-old made headlines earlier this week when he said the Raiders aren’t properly building “a winning culture.” This has led to speculation that Adams may be unhappy in Sin City, and that the Raiders may ultimately look to move on from their All-Pro weapon.
At NFL Analysis Network, Matthew Schmidt proposed the idea of the Indianapolis Colts acquiring Adams from the Raiders in exchange for 2024 first and third-round selections:
“The Indianapolis Colts weren’t expected to contend for much of anything this season, but through three weeks, they find themselves right in the thick of the AFC South division race…
Recently, Las Vegas Raiders wide out Davante Adams expressed his displeasure with his team, criticizing the organizational culture and saying that he doesn’t have time to wait around. That has sparked speculation that Adams could ultimately ask for a trade in the coming weeks, and if that happens, there will be no shortage of teams who will be interested in his services.
Indianapolis will surely be on that list.
The Colts could offer the Raiders a 2024 first-round draft pick and a third-rounder in exchange for Adams, who would instantly become Indy’s No. 1 receiver.”
This may feel like a hefty price for Adams given his age and hefty contract (he signed a five-year, $140 million extension in 2022). But the Raiders gave up first and second-round picks in 2022 to the Green Bay Packers for Adams, so GM Dave Ziegler will surely want to recoup some of the value.
Though Adams will be 31 in December, he hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down. The future Hall of Famer should also continue to age well, considering that his game is built on elite route-running more than actual speed.

Adams would be a nice fit for a Colts team that must add more pieces around rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. They already have a WR1 in Michael Pittman Jr., but Adams could definitely help take the passing game to another level.
Bottom line: Expect Adams’ name to be heavily mentioned in trade rumors if the Raiders continue to struggle leading up to the deadline.
