Davante Adams is reported to have left the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice session this Friday, heading to the locker room after appearing to have sustained a right leg injury.
That is according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal (H/T CBS Sports), who claimed that the player was limping after taking a hit from San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward during the teams’ 11-on-11 drills.
There could be reason for the Raiders and their fans to be concerned, though it’s also noted that the star wide receiver was able to walk to the locker room on his own after being examined by trainers. It’s presumed that he was examined further inside the facility.
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is due to speak to reporters after the day’s practice. So he is likely to shed some light on the situation.
Things do seem hopeful at the moment, given that the WR didn’t need any help getting into the locker room. However, you just never know with collisions.
Should the Raiders lose Adams for some time, it would mark a significant setback as he’s one of the best pass-catchers in the league. It would also compound their woes involving Josh Jacobs, with the running back still holding out over contractual issues.
